Gift Aid declaration.

If you pay UK Income Tax, add 25p to every pound you give, at no cost to you.

An open Bible on a pewGift Aid: a quiet lift to every pound.

How Gift Aid works.

If you are a UK taxpayer, every £1 you give becomes £1.25 to the church. HMRC returns the basic-rate tax you have already paid. It costs you nothing more.

Complete the declaration once and it applies to every past gift in the last four years and every future gift, until you tell us otherwise.

You must have paid at least as much UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in the year as the total Gift Aid claimed on all your charitable gifts. If you have not, please tell us.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Do I need to fill in a form?

On the portal, just tick the Gift Aid box. If you give by standing order or in person, write for a paper declaration and we will post one out.

What if I stop paying enough tax?

Email finance@kacuk.org and we will mark your record. We would rather know than over-claim.

Higher-rate taxpayer: can I claim back the difference?

Yes. You can claim back the difference between the basic rate and your top rate of tax on your Self Assessment return. We provide a statement each April.

Can I Gift Aid for a non-UK donor?

No. Gift Aid is only available to UK taxpayers.
